Tu Bishvat Planting

Tel-Aviv, 1937

  • Negative no. : 1177
Tu BiShvat, “The New Year of the Trees” is one of the most celebrated occasions in the young and developing Israel. The hebrew date of the 15th of Shevat was dedicated to tree planting ceremonies and overall appreciation of the land and it’s local fruits. Rudi took this series of portraits at a tree planting event in a school. We enjoyed the complete concentration of the child’s gaze in the delicate plant, their school bag mixing with the natural surroundings. The play of focus and blur creates in this photo a small perfect moment of recreation in nature.
