Book: A beam of silence

In Haggai Linik's book, there are texts and images about urban nature - "about the place where nature, in all its manifestations, touches the houses of the city that is being dug up, destroyed, buried in the ground and raised to the sky."

In the beginning there was nature, then humans arrived and surrounded themselves with a city with an inner volume that murmured incessantly. The flora shrank into a park, the animals were imprisoned in a zoo, the fish were gathered in an aquarium, the songbirds were imprisoned behind bars, the flowers were woven into wreaths, the trees were given numbers and the dogs learned to “give a hand”.
Our relationship with nature is drawn from our childhood years – the walk outside the kindergarten gate, the plantings during the Tu B'Shevat celebrations, the first time an irritable bee stuck its stinger in our flesh, the sensational discovery that "it is the sea", the mud that stuck to the soles of our shoes and the desire to walk into a puddle of water because "you see the sky there".
This book is co-authored by thirty-one writers who wrote about the place where nature, in all its manifestations, touches the houses of the city that is being dug up, destroyed, buried in the ground and raised to the sky. In between, black and white images present a purposeless movement, a thread indicating a life that has lost its territory. The obvious has been emptied and a hollow, interrupted, blurred figurative identification remains.

Among the participants in the book: Nurit Zarhi, Alon Idan, Ruth Almog, Danny Kerman, Daniela De-Nur, Dror Burstein, Nurit David, Elad Zart, Mor Kadishson, Bilu Blich, Alon Alters, Mickey Gurvitz, Yakir Elkariv, Yoram Kupermintz, Oded Mende-Levi, Chilik Gurfinkel, Shmulik Duvdevani, Aviv HaBaron, Eyal Halfon, and it also includes a dialogue between Arik Einstein and Ali Mohar.
