350.00 ₪Class of 2007 is a long-term photographic project by Israeli photographer Vardi Kahana, who documented the graduating class of her son’s high school in Ramat Hasharon over a period of 17 years. Each year, the same individuals returned to her studio, creating a remarkable visual record of growth, change, and the passage of time.
Through hundreds of portraits, the book follows the transition from adolescence to adulthood: military service, higher education, careers, relationships, parenthood, and personal challenges. Alongside the individual stories, a broader portrait of an entire Israeli generation emerges, shaped by the social and political events that unfolded during those years.
With her precise and empathetic eye, Kahana transforms the personal portrait into a collective portrait of contemporary Israeli society. More than a photographic document, Class of 2007 is a reflection on time, identity, and the lives we build as we grow older.
