65.00 ₪Naomi Shemer (1930-2004) | Poet, musician and composer, winner of the Israel Prize for Hebrew singing. She was nicknamed "the national poet". Shemer was born and raised in the Kinneret group, studied at the Academy of Music in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. In 1951 she enlisted in the IDF, served in the Nahal Command as a pianist, and after her release she married actor Gideon Shemer. In 1956 they moved to Tel Aviv, staged the first Israeli musical "Five Five", and her songs began to be published and recognized. During the 1960s and 1970s she wrote and composed many songs that became Iron Sheep assets, including "Eucalyptus Grove", "There the Golan Mountains", "If Only" and "Jerusalem of Gold". In 1983, Shemer received the Israel Prize in Hebrew singing, "for the wonderful fusion between word and melody and for the expression given in them to the feelings of the people's hearts."
