Hanna Rovina (1888-1980) was known as “the First Lady of Israeli Theater”. She was born in Belarus and joined the Hebrew theatrical studio in Moscow which was to form the basis of Habimah Theatre. in 1925 and moved to Eretz Yisrael, where her work in the theater established her reputation as Israel’s leading actress.
