The PhotoHouse was damaged in the war
On Monday, June 16, 25 at four in the morning, a missile struck just a few meters from The PhotoHouse.
The blast devastated the shopfront. Glass shattered in every direction, covering—like a blanket—dozens of prints that were laid out in the center of the store: the PhotoHouse’s signature product, which every day brings joy to so many people who come to see, to remember, or to discover for the first time the stories of our beloved country.
Of course, we are keeping everything in perspective and thank God that this is, after all, only property. Material things.
Yes—materials that were crafted with great care and love—but we will restore it all.
We will repair, rebuild, reprint, repackage, and open our doors wide once again. Just as we’ve done for ninety years.
Because there is nothing more heartwarming than seeing the wonder in the eyes of those who visit us each day, and the inspiration they draw from our work.
That is what gives us the strength to keep going.
Today we were blessed with an outpouring of love—from people passing by on the street and from friends of the PhotoHouse who reached out across every platform, all offering their help.
We always strive to stand strong and not to need assistance, but we understand now: just as we are here for you, you are here for us.
Hand in hand. The PhotoHouse and this remarkable nation.
How lucky we are to have you.
