Tal Lanir
My name is Tal Lanir, I am a curator for special projects at the Tel Aviv Museum and lecture regularly in many places.
As part of my work I research modern mediums and their entry into the world of art and therefore, many of my lectures deal with topics such as new media, artistic appropriation, video art, street art (I curated the first street art exhibition in an Israeli museum), computer art, animation, video game art and the combination of music and art .
In addition, I have many lectures on contemporary artists such as: Christian Marclay, Doris Salcedo, Michel Gondry, Cara Walker and others and a lot on modern art and Israeli art.
In recent years, I have also been collaborating with the lecturer and researcher Dr. Guy Tal, who specializes in Renaissance and Baroque. We are building a course with four topics, where each topic is broken down and studied from the classical/Renaissance angle and then from the contemporary angle, which also includes pop culture, etc. In each lecture The other lecturer also sits and adds his points and comments to the discussion and thus a lively and often funny discussion ensues (we are very good friends). Last year we conducted a course on monsters, which was very successful and popular. This year we have grown even more and are conducting a course on "exemplary failures".
