We started in 1936 as an active photo house on 30 Allenby Street, Tel Aviv. Ten years ago we temporarily moved to 5 Tchernichovsky St., but it feels like we've always been here. The wooden floor, the vintage furniture and of course the photographs themselves and the smell of old development materials in the air, reminiscent of oblivion. More than once visitors come here and lose a sense of time as they browse through the variety of products, books and archive albums and develop in-depth conversations with our small and warmly staff.

Rudi Wiesenstein, the founder of The PhotoHouse, documented the events of the developing country and its inhabitants for 50 decades and cultivated a magnificent archive with over a million negatives that we preserve in The PhotoHouse.
